Mal-Nutrition: The Genesis of Illness

Today's illnesses can be categorized into these two general groups:

Diseases of Poverty: which include, but not limited to Cholera, Typhoid, Malaria, other parasitic diseases,(eg worms) Diarrhea, Dysentery, Beriberi, Kwashiorkor, Marasmus, Tuberculosis and Pneumonia. These are due to poor hygiene, poor education, lower socioeconomics, and a form of Mal-nutrition called Under-nutrition.

Diseases of Affluence : which include, but not limited to Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, High Cholesterol, Heart disease, Heart attack, Cancer, Stroke, Gout, Arthritis, Infertility, Prostate problems, Asthma, inflammatory bowel disease. These are due to Stress, Sedentary behaviour (lack of excercise) Western lifestyle, consumption of Processed foods, over excessive consumption of meat and meat products and a form of Mal-nutrition called Over-nutrition.
